چکیده

Abstract Synthesis of Fe-Cr-Al alloy by powder metallurgy method was developed to produce a bioimplant material with low modulus elasticity. Microstructure characterization and phase identification were carried out support the development bone implant research. The alloys synthesized elemental composition 16 Cr (wt%) that added Al in variations 3, 6, 10 (wt%). synthesis an exceptional combination mixing mechanical milling, cold compacting consolidating special using APS (Arc Plasma Sintering) apparatus. analyzed SEM-EDS XRD tests. microstructure showed relatively homogeneous fine grain small porosity around 80 %. Refinement peak pattern revealed formation Fe-Cr main followed Fe-Al as solid solution. hardness test high level maximum for Fe-16Cr-6Al 160 VHN (Vickers Hardness Number). quantity influenced alloy.

Synthesis and liquid phase sintering of TiN/TiB2/Fe–Cr–Ni nanocomposite powder

Nanostructured TiN/TiB2/Fe–Cr–Ni composite powder has been prepared via high energy ball milling. Ti and BN powders are reacted to form uniform mixture of TiN and TiB2 within 2 h of milling by a mechanically activated self-sustaining reaction (MSR). The crystallite sizes of TiN nd TiB2 are about 7 and 16 nm, respectively, after 32 h of milling. Through liquid phase sintering and optimizing the ...

Atomistic Study of Surfaces and Interfaces of Fe-Cr and Fe-Cr-Al Alloys

Surface and interface properties of Fe-Cr, Fe-Al, and Fe-Cr-Al are studied using Exact Muffin-Tin Orbitals and Monte Carlo methods and with x-ray photoelectron and Auger electron techniques. Surface composition is investigated as a function of oxidation (heating) time. Hard x ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES) is used to scan non destructively the compositions below the surface. It is foun...
